Miradouro do Salto do Cavalo

Witness two vulcanic craters side by side from this picturesque viewpoint, if the visibility is good, it's really a breathtaking stop.

Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeiroes

Visit a natural park that was once a watermill station, with a waterfall on the outside and a smaller one inside of the park. You can also see the old water mills that nowadays were transformed into museums.

This used to be an old whale watching spot, later transformed into a picnic area. The shelter for the whale watchers is still there.

Enjoy a buffet of typical food from São Miguel island. Several options of meat and fish as well as salads.

Nordeste

Stop at the center of the eastern most village of the island. Although small it's a very beautiful village where flowers and gardens are the local landmark.

Miradouro Da Vista Dos Barcos

From this viewpoint you can see the Arnel lighthouse that marks the eastern most point of the island.

One of the most important picnic parks/garden of the island. Well kept and with several viewpoints over the ocean, this one is a favorite amongst locals.

From this viewpoint over the ocean, locals gather to see the sunrise.

Visit the village where everything started. This is where the sailors that discovered the island, and later the first settlers arrived to establish themselves in the island.
