Monte Da Guia Walking Trail

The Guide Mountain is a volcanic cone with two semicircular craters. From this place you will have a privileged view of the beach of Porto Pim and the city of Horta.

Miradouro de Nossa Senhora da Conceicao

Monument of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, from this place you can see the historic center of the city and the bay of Horta on one side and, on the other, Praia do Almoxarife. You can also see the neighboring Pico Island and the highest point in Portugal, Pico Mountain. On days without clouds, you can still see the island of São Jorge and Graciosa. Flamengos

On the route to Caldeira do Faial we will take a road with excellent views of the entire parish of Flamengos. This is the only parish on the island that has no sea around it and is surrounded by mountains and volcanoes.

Caldeira

Located in the center of the island, Caldeira is the true ex-libris of Faial. It is one of the largest volcanic craters in the Azores, which was at the origin of the island, measuring about 2000 meters in diameter, seven kilometers in perimeter and 400 meters in depth.

Meeting and Pickup

Pickup available or meet at start point

Your pickup for the tour will be between 9:15 and 9:30, at your accommodation in Horta. For guests arriving from Pico, the pickup will be between 9:15 and 9:20 AM, outside the exit door of the Maritime Terminal (ferry station). We recommend taking the ferry that arrives in Faial at 8:45 am, since it may take at least 10 minutes to disembark. Please be ready and waiting at the pick-up location during the indicated period. Since we will be picking up other participants in different locations, the guide may not be able to wait for a long time. You will easily identify the guide, who will be in a grey Opel van. * Airport pickup is available only for private tours. If you booked a private tour, please indicate your flight number at the time of Reservation so we can track your arrival.
